Problem Space

While designing the online store of OTAKU Anime Wear, a Ukrainian brand, I faced the challenges of creating a minimalistic yet unique visual style that would reflect the essence of the brand and meet the client's expectations. The main challenge was to create an interface that would be concise and easy to use, yet provide users with a unique and memorable experience similar to stores such as Prom and Purplelama.

Role

Product Designer

In my role as an interface designer for OTAKU Anime Wear, I was tasked with creating a visual style that combined minimalism and recognizability. My work included developing layouts for the homepage, product pages, and checkout processes, taking into account the client's visual guidelines and analysis of competing stores.

Timeline & Contribution

Working on the design of the OTAKU Anime Wear online store took several weeks. The project began by analyzing competitors such as Prom and Purplelama to highlight the elements that make these stores successful. I then developed several variations of design concepts focused on minimalism, but with unique elements reflecting Japanese culture and anime.

During the development process, I actively interacted with the customer, gathering feedback and making adjustments to the design based on their preferences.

Outcome

The result of my work was a minimalistic and stylish design for the OTAKU online store. The homepage welcomes users with its simplicity and elegance, while the product pages provide clear information and make it easy to browse the products. Checkout processes were optimized for maximum customer convenience.

Feedback from the customer emphasized satisfaction with the design and highlighted the successful combination of minimalism and unique style, which, combined with quality products, makes the OTAKU online store attractive to the target audience.
